Slate and Marble
Slate is a fine-grained metamorphic rock, which means it has been formed within the layers of the earth due to extreme pressure and heat. Used for centuries by the building trade for roof tiles, flooring and walling, slate has become increasingly popluar in homes due to its durability and variety of colours.
Marble is also a metamorphic rock formed due to intense heat and pressure being applied to Limestone. Marble is known for its vast variety of colours from white right through to black and is characterised too by its naturally occuring veining and shade variations. If used as flooring, it is best installed in a honed finish.
